rom behind the wheel of an obscenely muscled Dodge pickup, Vincent Edward "Bo" Jackson is reminiscing about the time he took down a 300-pound bear from point-blank range with a .45-caliber pistol. This was a decade ago in Alaska, a few years after Bo retired from organized sports and a few days before the Princess of Wales died in a car crash, and if you're wondering whether Bo was scared, hell no, Bo was not scared. Not even when that bear got so close Bo and his hunting companion could see the hairs bolt upright like pine needles on the back of its neck.

I thought Coach Hal could bring the heat better than this video indicates. Believe it or not, he was actually more talkative after the game. Maybe 6 years of domination has finally worn him down.

So read through to the five finger discount...

Why not start out game week with an old favorite. This article was written before the 2003 season. It's just as relevant today as it was four years ago. See you Saturday. War Eagle!!

We're all familiar with Eagle Eye News. It's a completely student produced news show in Auburn. Well, I came across a video by Daniel Baker that made me laugh out loud, so I thought I'd share them with you guys.

Yeah, I suppose that Auburn fans were just being overly sensitive when we said that the New York Times had an agenda when they reported the Auburn grade scandal. Funny, I don't see them reporting the University of Alabama's "Football 101".

Another tailgating innovation has hit the markets. For all you people that have ever endured the annoying beeping and played the "aim the dish at the corner of the building... no left... no right... right there, stop!" game, this is for YOU.

Here at WDT, we try to bring you up to date on the most innovative tailgating products that exist. We believe that it's never too early to start preparing for the upcoming football season. Kudos to my sister-in-law for finding this diamond in the rough. These Reef sandals will be flying off the shelves in every college town across the nation. Move over Papa Bert... I now understand what Jimmy Buffet meant when he said he "blew out his flip-flop"

The recent success of Florida Gator basketball has made me jealous of having more months in the year to root for a good team. Here's a quick look back at the 1998-99 Auburn Tigers Basketball team. Personal shout-out to Abe Smith, who was a freshman on the team that year.

You thought the parties ended after New Years, but there's one more right here.
Come on party people, here's your last taste of the GB&F for the '07 season. Complete with ranting about too many bowls and jabs at the "other" Alabama school (and I don't mean Troy).
Pull your party hat and noise makers out of the trash and get ready, the ceremony is about to begin.

Apologies ahead of time to the logical Bama fans that already realize what I'm about to write. It's just unfortunate that there are so few of you. Just allow us to enjoy the 2000's like you enjoyed the 70's... if you were alive then.
I know this article is going to fall on deaf, crimson, houndstooth ears, I know that. But, Bama fans, I have to finally put all my feelings into print and this is directed at each of you. They're feelings that most Auburn fans talk about to other Auburn fans. They're feelings that Auburn fans tell Bama fans all too often. The problem is that Bama fans feel that Auburn fans just babble out of jealousy. Well, the national media and coaches from around the nation have spoken. The question is... do you care to listen?

Tigercatch - AuburnSports.com (The Bunker)
Firing Shula has turned out to be a good thing for Auburn. This entire coaching search reeks of the arrogance that is typical for Alabama. Most schools would have drawn up a realistic list of coaches that would come to Alabama, and had an agreement pretty much worked out between the agent of the coach and the representatives of the university. But once again, Alabama has done their typical thing and let their arrogance blind them to who they really are.

Coming into this game, the season could have gone two ways. A loss would have defined the season as disappointing despite the great wins over Florida and LSU. A victory puts the season in a much happier place. We’ve officially had a “good year” in my mind despite the losses to Georgia and Arkansas.
Let’s go to the Good, Bad and Fugly to learn more.

What is it about the Iron Bowl that makes people act like they do? Is it pure hatred? Well when it comes to the Alabama/Auburn Football game I would say with great confidence “Yes!” Most of that hatred is sent in the direction of the opposing team. But that is not always the case.

I’m trying. Trying to revive the Iron Bowl spirit I felt as a kid. Anyone who grew up in Alabama knows what I’m talking about. Nothing compared to Iron Bowl week. For those of you from Georgia (where I now reside), let me explain. When I was growing up, everyone from Alabama was either a Tiger or a bammer. Literally everyone.

I drove home yesterday afternoon after the fastest beak down in WarDamnTailgate history. I was hoarse, my boxers were wet and I was well on my way to a decent chafing. My poor wife, who understands how “well” I take Auburn losses, was lucky enough to spend the next two and a half hours with me as I periodically convulsed when a memory of Georgia running up the middle for 7 yards assaulted my brain.

First of all let me say... No excuses. Georgia lined up and beat us like the two/three loss team we are. Kudos to them.
Now... on to the excuses.
